I feel like the church is the one that does the most damage. Christianity itself is often twisted to control people. For me, it’s the twisted words and lack of an understanding of the religious doctrine that forced people to submit to their abusers.

Personally, I felt like I was forced to put aside my personal feelings and opinions to please my abuser who was also my own father.

I don’t like how the church normalized abuse as a way to show dominance. All the Scriptures used in the Bible to control people are only snippets of the Bible verse.
